Our Story
William Adams and David Johnson began working together in the architecture & planning office of Kennard Design Group in 1988 and have since continued to work together on a variety of project types. Together, they represent collectively over 70 years practicing architecture in California. Our varied experience includes commercial, municipal, institutional, education, healthcare, religious, custom single-family and multi-dwelling unit residential. InVision Architecture is a small-sized firm by design ensuring that each project receives the attention and dedication it deserves to be successful. Every project is assigned a senior architect who will actively oversee the work not only in design but with every aspect of the project, from conception through completion.

INVISION ARCHITECTURE is a full-service architectural firm offering comprehensive services to commercial, corporate, and residential clients in architectural planning & design, interior design, master planning, project & program management, construction management, and strategic planning.
The Orange County-based firm was incorporated in California by architect, William W. Adams, who has practiced architecture since 1986. Prior to incorporating, architectural services were provided under the dba InVision Architecture in Southern California since 1996. We are a multidisciplinary collaboration of professionals with diverse backgrounds in a wide array of projects including commercial, municipal, educational, residential, and religious.
With an emphasis on progressive and sustainable design solutions, it has been our goal to provide quality of life designs, which enhance the built environment, sustainability of our communities, and which shape the future of the people who encounter them.

Leadership
William W. Adams
William Adams started practicing architecture in 1986 working for a well-renowned architect in the Washington, DC. After relocating to Los Angeles, he became a principal working with legendary architect, Robert Kennard, at KDG Architecture & Planning. Subsequently in 1996 he began practicing under the dba InVision Architecture. After nearly 25 years of providing architectural services under that name, InVision Architecture was incorporated in California.
With over 30 years practicing as a licensed architect, Bill is skilled in the design and management of an array of project types including commercial, educational, municipal, residential, transportation, public works, and institutional. He is experienced managing complex project portfolios, maximizing risk mitigation, building collaborative relationships at all levels, including key stakeholders, and providing thought leadership on best-in-class facility and space management to promote energy, efficiency, sustainability, and innovation. He has a history of working collaboratively to drive outcomes and customer satisfaction. Bill is committed to environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and the pursuit of excellence in business.
Bill is a personable, accomplished architect, entrepreneur, father, mentor, leader and strategic thinker with a continuous-improvement mindset who provides strategic planning, visionary design, effective management, and direction necessary to assess, plan, and implement project goals that meet customer expectations.
He has experience negotiating international agreements; speaks, writes, and reads Brazilian Portuguese.
David M. Johnson
David Johnson has over 35 years of experience with commercial, residential, institutional, educational and healthcare projects; 33 of those years as a licensed architect. He has a broad range of architectural experience from project inception through completion on small to multi-million-dollar projects. In addition to design, his expertise includes budgeting, scheduling, construction management, and contracting.
His specialty is the technical aspects of project development, and specifically is an integral part of the preparation of project documents and coordination of various engineering disciplines with the architectural documents. David and Bill have continued to work together throughout their careers.
David started his architectural career at the Los Angeles office of Skidmore, Owings and Merrill in 1979, later moving to Kennard Design Group in the early 80s where he had a continuing relationship as both an employee and consultant for over 20 years. While at KDG, he specialized in healthcare, educational, and municipal facilities for the University of California system, the County of Los Angeles, the United States Government, and the Los Angeles Unified School District. In 2001, David began practicing as a sole proprietor, and has completed numerous commercial, institutional and residential projects (both multi-family and single family) from inception through construction. He believes in listening attentively to the client’s needs and desires to develop a program that satisfies these goals and forms a cohesive relationship that will endure for the life of the project.
